Baby can sense light and is practising tiny movements. Week 15 often feels quieter on the outside, but the baby is becoming more coordinated and responsive inside.
Bones continue hardening, ears are moving into place, and the baby may begin sensing light through closed eyelids. Muscles and joints are practising movement patterns that will later become stronger kicks.
A playful size comparison for this week is orange. That orange-sized baby is stretching out more, so the body looks longer and less compact than before.
A small bump may become more obvious now, and your centre of gravity is starting to shift even if only subtly. Skin changes, fuller veins, and occasional nosebleeds can show up as blood volume rises.
Round-ligament pulls, heartburn, constipation, stuffy nose, headaches, and mild backache can all appear in week 15. Many people feel more energetic overall but still notice random physical annoyances.
Support growing blood volume with iron-rich foods such as spinach, lentils, beans, eggs, meat if you eat it, and vitamin C alongside. Fibre and fluids matter too, because constipation can sneak in even when appetite is better.
Walking, prenatal yoga, and strength work with good form can support posture as your body begins to shift. Avoid long sessions flat on your back if they leave you lightheaded or uncomfortable.
You may feel a little more like yourself again, which can be a relief after the first trimester. At the same time, new visibility can make pregnancy feel more public than before.
Partners can help with everyday comfort now, from reminding you to eat on time to encouraging movement that feels good. Thoughtful, steady support often matters more than big gestures.
Urgent warning signs this week include heavy bleeding, severe abdominal pain, fever, fainting, leaking fluid, or a severe headache with vision changes. Call for severe abdominal pain, heavy bleeding, fever, persistent dizziness, or symptoms of a urinary infection such as burning or lower abdominal pain.
Hearing is still developing, so full hearing comes later, but the ear structures are progressing quickly now. Talking to the bump is still a lovely habit if it feels meaningful to you.
Start thinking about comfortable, looser clothing. If clothes are starting to feel awkward, comfort is reason enough to size up without waiting for a dramatic bump.
